On 21st July, 1915, the 18th London battalion of 141 Brigade, 47th Division, moved into the front line at Fosse 7 in the Loos sector near Lens in France. During the afternoon of 23rd July their position came under heavy shell fire and one shell fell on the roof of a dug-out, killing two men and wounding three more. Thomas Pike was one of those killed. |
